On Charlie Rose last night, David Van Biema (TIME) and Jon Meacham (NEWSWEEK) discussed the articles they’d written on the Nativity. The conversation was interesting. The Nativity is dealt with in two of the Gospels. Mathew tells the story one way, Luke tells it another. What can we learn from this? I couldn’t help but think of Steiner’s Fifth Gospel and the story of the two Jesus boys. An article I found on the Vermont Sophia Web pages gives an overview of this idea:
