A NEW KIND OF CREDIT CARD

by o on February 24, 2006

Maybe there is light at the end of the long, dark tunnel that is the world of the credit card. Since their inception, the world has changed. The days when you could check into a hotel with cash were virtually over. People who wouldn’t ever think to buy something they couldn’t afford were given the means to start thinking about it. Suddenly, there were two cars in many garages. And the masses began to pay, pay interest rates that it’s hard to believe are legal. Cash businesses went out of business when they switched over. The list of atrocities goes on and on. But credit cards can be useful, too. Dee Hock, the founder of Visa International and Greg Steltenpohl, founder of the Odwalla juice company, in addition to more than 100 others with a positive new vision are trying to make some positive changes.
