Scrip

the Indians forced onto reservations, coerced to plant corn or take food stamps, to become dependent upon a fierce abstraction and forsake a balance ; or starve rather than not live from what the earth provides on her own.  scrip is only good at the company store.  and it is all the company store, the dollar bill  just another form of scrip.  and we are its tenant farmers.  i want to know: where is the office that exchanges the currecny of dependence for interdependence?
